S.H.E's Selina makes peace with ex-husband on psychologist's advice

S.H.E's Selina makes peace with ex-husband on psychologist's advice

It's been three years since S.H.E's Selina Jen finalised her divorce from lawyer Richard Chang.

While it was a tumultuous time for both parties then, it seems that the dust has settled.

In a recent interview with Taiwanese media, 37-year-old Selina spoke about her ex-husband. She revealed that at the advice of her psychologist, she met up with him and had an honest and open conversation.

Selina has been open about working with a psychologist after losing her voice last year.

As doctors couldn't find anything wrong with her throat, she decided to seek psychological help as she suspected it was due to "psychological stress".

According to Selina, the ex-couple also apologised to each other and made peace during the meeting.

She confessed that their relationship is at a comfortable place now.

Selina also explained that should she meet someone, she would prefer to enjoy the present and thinks that it's more important to have happy moments together than to discuss marriage.

NINE-YEAR RELATIONSHIP

The former lovers were together for nine years — and married for four — before they split in April 2016.

On an episode of Chinese TV show My Voice My World in August that year, Selina admitted that her "mistake was to be self-centred".

She said: "In a relationship, it's important to love the other person and, at the same time, not lose yourself. But I loved myself too much."

However, she acknowledged that their relationship saw her through her burn recovery and she was grateful to her ex.

They married in 2011, a year after Selina's filming accident where she suffered serious burns covering 54 per cent of her body.

Selina told Apple Daily: "When I was injured, he was by my side. We accompanied each other in a process that was the most difficult in life and also the warmest."
