[UPDATE Aug 24] It's a bouncing baby boy for Wang Leehom and his wife Lee Jinglei.

The singer announced the birth of his son Wang Jiayao on Facebook on Friday (Aug 24), and quipped that his "love rival is no longer Beethoven," a reference to his similarly-titled debut album in 1995.

"It's important to take care of a woman who is going through bodily changes," he said, adding that he will be cooking for his wife Lee Jinglei during the confinement period.

The 42-year-old also said that he wants to foster good relationships with his children right from the moment they are born.

He told Apple Daily Taiwan: "This is my third time taking paternity leave, I don't know if I'll be taking any more in the future, so I will treasure it and enjoy this break."

The couple got married in 2013 and they have two daughters - Jiali, who turned four in July, and Jiana, one.
