Xiang Yun hospitalised after discovering blood in her urine

Xiang Yun had a health scare earlier this month after discovering blood in her urine.

In a Shin Min Daily News report, the veteran actress revealed that she was taken to a hospital at 3am the day before she was supposed to receive an Artiste Appreciation Award at Mediacorp.

The 55-year-old actress, who is experiencing menopause, was alarmed by the sight of blood in her urine and thought she was suffering from some kind of illness.

However, she was later diagnosed with urinary tract infection (UTI) which came as a great relief to her.

Xiang Yun shared that she had held in her urine while filming her new drama, The Lead, because all the toilets on location were locked.

Therefore, she only drank water once a day and only went to the toilet after filming ended.

The health scare served as a reminder not to overwork herself, she said.

She is now taking better care of herself by drinking a lot of water, taking more toilet breaks, and eating cranberries to help treat her infection.
