With Ramadan approaching, you may be on the search for places for an iftar feast. Gather your loved ones and check out our round-up of halal buffet spots to break your daily fast with a delicious spread.

1. Kintamani Indonesian Restaurant

If you’re in the mood for Indonesian food, Kintamani Indonesian Restaurant, which has served up delicious Indonesian food since 1985, is your place.

Eat your way through the hearty spread with mouthwatering crowd favourites like Rendang Daging Sapi (beef simmered in spices and coconut sauce), Ayam Geprek (crispy fried chicken with homemade sambal), Paru Sambal Kentang (fried beef lungs with spicy potatoes), Sayur Lodeh (vegetables in rich coconut gravy).

Seafood lovers, make a beeline for the Kerang Masak Tauco (mussels with fermented beans), Ikan Bakar (grilled whole fish) and Udang Bijirin (cereal prawns). Each table of diners will also receive a complimentary specialty of Ketam Sambal (chilli crab) during dinner.

Finish off with traditional desserts like Pulut Durian Pengat, and various kueh.

Ginger at Parkroyal on Beach Road

With beautiful decor and sumptuous food, Ginger at Parkroyal on Beach Road is a fab place to feast with your loved ones.

This Ramadan, it’s serving up a tempting spread with both classic dishes and modern twists — look forward to a Ginger “Ramly” Burger that’s crafted in-house, meltingly tender Beef Cheek Masak Merah (beef cheek braised with tomatoes and dried chilli) and the chef-recommended Crab Lemak Nenas (Indonesian Mud crab with pineapples topped with spicy coconut gravy).

Other highlights include the sweet and tangy Mango Kerabu, Rock Lobster Mee Siam, Classic Mutton Soup and more. Delight your loved ones with the lavish lineup of delectable Ramadan desserts such as the local favourite Durian Pengat, Putu Piring and Bubur Cha Cha to end the feasting on a sweet note.

Window on the Park at Holiday Inn Singapore Orchard City Centre

There’s plenty to sink your teeth into at halal-certified buffet restaurant Window on the Park at Holiday Inn Singapore Orchard City Centre. Its Selera Iftar (Tastes of Iftar) menu doles out a slew of nearly 40 varieties of Asian, Arabic, and international options

Plates like Grilled Chicken Satay, Mee Rebus and Malay Spice Beef Rendang will please those who prefer trad dishes, alongside the likes of Wok-Fried Glass Noodles with Crab Meat, Singapore Chilli Crab with Golden Mantou, and Nyonya Chap Chye. There’ll also be Western-style highlights like Roasted Lamb with Black Pepper Sauce and Salmon in Masak Lemak Sauce.

Leave some space for Ramadan-centric sweet treats like pengat pisang (a banana and coconut dessert) with red bean soup, Um Ali (Arabic Bread Butter Pudding), and local favourites such as pandan chiffon cake and assorted kuehs.

And to ramp up the festivities, there’ll also be balloon sculpting as well as a henna art tattoo booth to keep both the young and young at heart entertained.

21 On Rajah at Wyndham Singapore at Zhongshan Park

Wyndham Singapore at Zhongshan Park’s 21 On Rajah has an a la carte Ramadan buffet to satisfy your rumbling tummy, with options such as sashimi, epok epok, roasted beef ribeye slathered with rendang sauce, as well as bubur lambuk (a traditional lightly spiced rice porridge). Then move on to local delights like Nonya Laksa with Prawns, Malay Chicken Curry and Prawn Noodle Soup.

There’s a Mediterranean feast to be had as well; think chicken, beef and lamb kebabs, grilled prawn kebabs, and homemade beef shawarma with a creamy chilli garlic sauce. Wash it all down with Qaseer Qamar Al-Din, a festive apricot juice.

Price: $58++ for weekday dinners and $68++ per adult for weekend dinners. Diners can opt to top up $10++ to enjoy the additional festive dishes.

Straitskitchen at Grand Hyatt Singapore

From Malay and Indian to Chinese and Middle Eastern, Grand Hyatt Singapore’s Straitskitchen has a range of cuisines to tantalise your tastebuds.

For starters, think chilled tiger prawns and rojak. Or make your way to the mezza section for tabbouleh, fattoush, and baba ghanoush to enjoy with pita bread straight out of the oven. Next, make your way through flavourful Malay and Asian delights like Ikan Lemak, Ayam Buah Keluak, Char Kway Teow, laksa, Hainanese chicken rice, and Chef Solanki’s famed Murgh Makhani (butter chicken) that you’ll want to mop up with fresh naan.

And from the grill: Udang Bakar (with grilled Spencer Gulf prawns), Kambing Bakar (Australian lamb marinated with chilli, shrimp paste, and pineapple juice) as well as otah otah and satay.

For something sweet, you’ll get a selection of dates, as well as freshly made organic banana fritters, fried durian balls, Nonya kueh, pulut hitam and more.

Holiday Inn Singapore Atrium

If you’re hankering for Korean food, make your reservations at Atrium Restaurant at Holiday Inn Singapore Atrium. For its Ramadan buffet this year, it’s dishing up a slew of halal-certified Korean favourites such as chicken bulgogi, kimchi ramyeon, crisp pajeon (scallion pancakes), tteokbokki and chadol doenjang jjigae (beef brisket soybean paste stew).

Other Ramadan buffet menu highlights include an aromatic beef rendang, roasted spring chicken with apricot sauce, mutton keema briyani and gado gado. Or go for the seafood like the salmon sashimi, poached tiger prawns, sea whelks, and fresh oysters ($15++ for six)

When: April 2 to May 31, 2022, daily

Price: Lunch is from $82++ (adult) and $25++ (child) from Mon to Fri. Dinner starts from $94++ (adult) and $30++ (child) from Sun to Thurs.

You’re in for a gastronomic affair at the halal-certified Carousel, which serves over a whopping 100 dishes across various cuisines, from Mediterranean to Korean, Indian and local delights. Fill your belly with the likes of various seafood, mezze, fresh sashimi, tandoori, chicken rice, and even Korean fare like kimchi fried rice and bulgogi chicken.

From the rotiserrie, there’s roast slow-roasted ribeye and roasted chicken. On Fridays and Saturdays, there’s snow crab legs on the menu, too.

Dessert-wise, you can look forward to the Carousel Candy Cart that’s loaded with treats such as lemon meringue tarts, profiteroles and eclairs. Or make your way to the ice cream parlour with delish flavours from Thai milk to tea to red velvet cake.
