Cupra adds the Leon, Terramar and Formentor to lineup in Singapore

PUBLISHED ONAugust 06, 2025 9:30 AMBYBen ChiaSpanish performance brand Cupra has added three new models to its lineup in Singapore. Uniquely, in an era of increasing electrification, the three cars are internal combustion engine (ICE) models, joining the two Cupra electric cars that were launched during the brand's debut in March this year.

Two of the models, the Cupra Leon and Cupra Formentor, are updated versions of cars that were previously offered here under the brand's previous dealer in Singapore. The sole all-new model is the Cupra Terramar, a mid-sized SUV that is based on the Volkswagen Tiguan.

In keeping with Cupra's design DNA, the Terramar features sharp and sporty styling, with its pointed front and triangular daytime running lights. Its 2,681mm wheelbase means that there's plenty of interior room for passengers, while other highlights in the cabin include a large 12.9-inch infotainment screen and front bucket seats upholstered in a suede-like material.

Power comes from a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine with mild hybrid technology, and its total output is rated at 150hp and 250Nm of torque. This engine is also used in the Cupra Leon, a hatchback that's similar to the Volkswagen Golf, but with a sharper and more streamlined design.

The updated Leon now gets a revised front end that matches the rest of the Cupra family, with its sleek nose and triangular-shaped lights. The interior also mirrors the Terramar, with the same 12.9-inch infotainment screen and front bucket seats also present here.

A key difference though lies under the skin, and the new Leon now comes with an XDS electronic differential lock and dynamic traction support, both of which are meant to enhance the car's handling capabilities.

But for full performance though, there is the Cupra Formentor, which is a sleek coupe-SUV that is slightly larger than the Terramar. Cupra Singapore is offering the Formentor in top spec VZ form, which makes it the range-topping model of the Cupra lineup here.
Power for the Formentor VZ comes from a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine that produces an impressive 333hp and 420Nm of torque, allowing it to go from 0-100km/h in a quick 4.8 seconds.

Further enhancing the Formentor VZ's prowess are upgrades such as high-end Akebono brakes, a premium Akrapovic exhaust system, and sophisticated software like a torque splitter system and even a Drift mode function to allow the driver to decide how much fun he wants to have in the corners.
Pricing for the Cupra Leon starts at $209,900 with COE (as of August 2025), while the Cupra Terramar is going for $229,900 with COE. If you're interested in the Cupra Formentor VZ however, be prepared to fork out a lot more, for it retails at $299,900 with COE.
