If a trip to Japan for cherry blossom viewing (known as ‘hanami’) isn’t on the cards, you can head to Gardens by the Bay’s Flower Dome for its annual display of sakura.

It makes a return this week on March 4, 2022, with not just the beauty of the cherry blossoms, but also traditional Japanese elements like torii gates, hanami settings, Japanese floral art by Ikebana International Singapore, and a display of Japanese carp streamers known as koinobori on loan from the Japanese Association, Singapore.

Characters from Japanese-inspired lifestyle brand Tokidoki’s characters will also make an appearance. Catch the five magical Unicornos – Fubuki, Ichiyo, Haru & Harumi, Yoshino and Sakurako – alongside popular characters like Sandy and Donutella.

You can also explore a ‘magical giant box’ with marumado, or traditional round Japanese windows with a view.
