Get a glimpse into automotive workshops at Alexandra Village for free

Singaporean community-run festival, My Community Festival is back with its third edition, full of activities and tours taking place islandwide. While previous editions were virtual due to Covid restrictions, the third edition this year is chock-full of in-person guided tours and trails all across the island.
This year’s festival theme aims to explore the meaning of home, through educational experiences of Singapore’s hidden gems.
Among its lineup this year is a series of educational trails through automotive workshops at Alexandra Village in Singapore, something that’ll be of interest to you petrolheads out there.
Organised by non-profit organisation My Community, My Community Festival is a programme that showcases Singapore’s community stories through cultural and heritage experiences.
Among these is a programme titled Hello! My Alexandra Village, that takes participants through Singapore’s largest motor repair village.
Taking place over the weekend of Aug 13 and Aug 14, 2022, there will be eight tours for seasoned petrol heads and new ones to learn more about auto repair and maintenance from professionals of the trade, some of whom have been there since the 1970s.
These tours include learning how vintage cars get restored to glory, how to avoid tricks when sending your car in for repair, and hear from one of the pioneer shops at Alexandra Industrial Village.
