1. THE FY20 EXTRA CATALOGUE
There's no denying Ikea's catalogues make for serious home inspiration, especially if you're into that chill Scandi vibe, and its new 2020 iteration is no different.
With 204 pages chock-full of fresh ideas and 300 new products, it invites you to peek inside five 'different homes' that support healthier habits and get everyday life organised.
Perfect for a lazy afternoon read.
2. A HOME INSURANCE SOLUTION
Together with Etiqa Insurance, Ikea has debuted HEMSÄKER, derived from the Swedish words for home and security.
A global initiative by the Ikano Group behind Ikea, it is designed to be a comprehensive, affordable home content and personal accident insurance, priced at $59 annually.
It covers the costs incurred from damages to your home furniture, renovation and personal legal liability of up to $500,000*, and complements the compulsory fire insurance that all homeowners in Singapore are required to have.
Financial coverage is provided in the event the home contents and renovations are damaged because of a fire, water leakage or natural disaster, and also if a personal accident or burglary happens in the home.
For more information or to purchase HEMSÄKER online, visit https://insurance.ikea.sg.
*Terms and conditions apply.
3. ERGONOMIC PILLOWS
With quality shut-eye a focus of its campaign, Ikea's range of ergonomic and totally affordable pillows are ones you'll want to add to your bedroom wish list.
They're available in various shapes and sizes to accommodate different sleeping positions, like the Mjolkklocka ergonomic pillow ($49.90) for side or back sleepers and the Skogslok ergonomic multi-position pillow ($9.90).
In fact, we got to try out the Skogslok pillow and our verdict?
We like that it's like sinking into a cloud with just enough firmness to offer support.
Probably not for those of you who prefer hard pillows.
4. SMART LIGHTING
No need to get out of bed to dim or turn off the lights.
The smart colour-changing bulbs of the Tradfri series, Ikea's home smart range, allows you to switch and control different lights with the help of a remote control or via the Tradfri gateway and app.
ALSO COMING OUR WAY…
Air-purifying GUNRID curtains ($49.90) that are applied with a photocatalyst and work with sunlight to purify the air indoors will launch in April this year.
And the last thing which has us excited - Ikea is set to launch an interior design and renovation service in the coming month so watch this space!
