Feast for the eyes: Miss Universe Thailand 2026 contestants dress up as national dishes

Pad Thai, tom yam, mango sticky rice… which one is your favourite Thai dish?

In the Miss Universe Thailand's national costume segment on Tuesday (Aug 18), contestants took to the stage dressed up in outfits inspired by the country's most iconic food.

Talk about a feast for the eyes.

The 77 ladies each representing Thailand's 77 provinces flaunted larger-than-life costumes featuring food and produce that their provinces are best known for.

Some of the yummiest looking outfits include grilled chicken from Khon Kaen, mango sticky rice from Kalasin, as well as pad Thai from Uthai Thani.

And who can miss that giant shrimp from Trat?

The beauty pageant's theme for the national costume segment is "Fruits and food", which showcases Thailand's identity and food culture, Thai news outlet The Nation reported.

These contestants, who have gone all out to put a creative spin on national costumes, are vying for the chance to represent Thailand at the 75th Miss Universe competition held in Puerto Rico.

The new Miss Universe Thailand will be crowned following the finals on Sunday (Aug 23).
