Premium Automobiles has introduced the fourth Chinese car brand in its stable, Avatr, joining the likes of Zeekr, Xpeng and Deepal as the brands already represented by the dealership group.

Avatr (pronounced 'avatar') is a collaboration between Chinese carmaker Changan Automobile, battery manufacturer CATL and tech giant Huawei. The latter in particular is a key partner in developing Avatr's in-car technologies such as the advanced driver assistance systems.

The first Avatr model to go on sale here is the 11 (pronounced 'one-one'), a mid-sized SUV with sleek coupe-like styling. Its futuristic design, with its slim headlights, full-length taillights and sloping roofline, bears more than a hint of Jaguar or Aston Martin, and Avatr is positioning the car as contenders to offerings from traditional German luxury brands like BMW and Audi.

The interior is typically minimalist, as one has come to expect from most Chinese EVs these days. Aside from the large 15.6-inch central touchscreen and the 10.25-inch digital driver instrument display, a key highlight is the 10.25-inch front passenger touchscreen, from which the occupant can control settings like the media player or climate control.

Two variants of the 11 are available, the Standard Range and the Long Range. Both feature a single electric motor that produces 308hp and 370Nm of torque, with the difference mainly being the size of the battery.

The Standard Range features a 90kWh battery that offers a range of up to 475km on a full charge, while the Long Range has a larger 116kWh battery that can deliver a range of up to 600km. Charging times from 30 to 80 per cent using a 240kW DC fast charger takes 15 minutes for the Standard Range, while the Long Range will take 25 minutes.

Pricing starts at $278,999 with COE (as of July 2025) for the Avatr 11 Standard Range, while the Long Range variant is retailing at $303,999 with COE. The car will be on display and made available for test drives at a pop-up showroom outside UOB Plaza from August 1 to October 16.

Avatr 012

Premium Automobiles intends to introduce a couple more Avatr models over the next year, including the Avatr 07, a slightly smaller electric SUV, and the Avatr 06, a sporty fastback sedan. At the brand's launch event at Capella Singapore on July 25, it also showcased the Avatr 012, an electric performance sedan that is limited to just 700 units worldwide, and is unfortunately not intended for sale in Singapore.
