Snacc Attacc: We try old-school childhood snacks and are shook our intern cannot recognise most of them

Snacc Attacc is a bi-weekly video series where we try out different snacks and let you know if it's worth "snacc-(a)ttacking".

This week, we walk down memory lane and try out some iconic childhood snacks while being blindfolded! Were we able to recognise flavours that we grew up with?

Remember the days when you would set aside a portion of your daily pocket money just to treat yourself to a snack after school from the nearby mama shop?

I'd always buy a packet of Double Decker crackers and ice popsicles to cool down from the sweltering heat. While these simple snacks have been surpassed by flashier ones as we grew older, they'd always have a special place in our hearts.

In this episode, we took a walk down memory lane and recalled nostalgic memories while snacking on good old chilli tapioca chips, chocolate wafer from Tora, and potato wheel crackers.

Who knew that the wheel-shaped snack is simply potato crackers? I was hoping for a less generic formula.

Also, is it just me who realised the cracker has a subtle milk powder scent? I did a quick check on the label to find out if my tastebuds were tricking me, and I was so proud I picked up the taste! Simple pleasures in life.

If there was one thing I found out through this episode, it was that you'd be able to guess someone's age from the snacks they could recognise.

Shockingly, our intern has not seen or tried the chilli tapioca chips before this taste test, and pointed out that kids people born after 2000 (Generation Z) would not know what it is. Shook

What are some of your favourite childhood snacks?
