The Force is strong in Sentosa - that's because the annual Sandsation event this year features character faves from Star Wars!
Strike a pose with the 20 amazing sand sculptures, from Yoda to Darth Vader to Han Solo. Take part in free sand sculpting workshops (thrice daily), watch world-class sand masters competing in the Sentosa International Sand Sculpting Championship (until Sept 2), and grab exclusive Star Wars merch.

PLAYGROUND AT CLARKE QUAY CENTRAL - SEPT 6 TO 15
Clarke Quay Central transforms into a Japanese arcade arena, where you can play classics like Taiko No Tatsujin, Magic Gun Gun and Mario Kart, Sweet Land, Claw Catcher and Gashapon Drop.
Redeem arcade tokens with a minimum spend of $30 (or $80 from the supermarket). Drop by on Sept 7 and 14 for evening performances by Japanese Taiko drums and LED acts.

KIZTOPIA ROADSHOW AND BOOTCAMP - VARIOUS DATES

If you haven't visited Kiztopia, Singapore's largest indoor playground in a mall, drop by its roadshow for a taste of the learn-through-play activities your little ones can enjoy.
There's laser tag ($15 per person), a ball pit and a driving area ($10 for both), and customers can redeem a one-hour pass to Kiztopia at a discount, too. Or buy the annual pass at a special rate.

SWAPATHON - SEPT 7 (FREE)
Rifle through other people's wardrobes to find your new favourites at Swapathon, the very first sustainable fashion marathon that the Swapaholic team is organising in partnership with Marina Barrage and Terra SG, a social enterprise.
Before swapping clothes with other participants, you have to first earn 'swap points' by taking part in workshops and green vendor booths while enjoying snacks provided and grooving to live music at the Sustainable Village.
You can also hone your swapping skills at the plant, book and beauty swap before diving into the main fashion swap. (Different types of clothing cost different amounts of swap points.) Register here to secure your spot.

NATSU MATSURI - SEPT 7 & 8

Natsu Matsuri refers to the Japanese summer festival, and this one is the largest of its kind in Singapore. Enjoy a Pokemon carnival and Bon-Orodri mass dance, yukata try-outs, stage performances, join the J-Pop Fitness Dance Jam session, and visit over 100 food and merch stalls.
Buy tickets by Sept 6 for just $6 each; otherwise buy at the event for $8 each. Admission is free for kids below 1.2m tall.
The festival is held together with the Sports Hub Community Play Day, where you can take part in various heritage-themed challenges, and try go-karting.

NICKELODEON SLIME TIME AT CITY SQUARE MALL - SEPT 7 TO 15

LATINADA LATIN-AMERICAN FOOD FESTIVAL - SEPT 8 TO 16
The second installation of Singapore's first Latin American Food Festival, promises to be bolder and better. The annual festival will see 11 chefs and 13 restaurants from Peru, Colombia, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Venezuela, Puerto Rico and Chile gather to whip up dishes to take you on a week-long Latino adventure. The festival will kick off with "Domingo Tropical!" at Camp Kilo, with the Charcoal Club transforming into a mini street food festival, where you can indulge in favourites such as tacos, roasted pork, ceviche and themed cocktails, while bumping along to the heart-pumping sounds of Latin America. Gear up for a turbo-charged weekend at the Marina Bay Street Circuit this F1 season.

GALLERY CHILDREN'S BIENNALE 2019: EMBRACING WONDER - UNTIL DEC 29

With the theme, Embracing Wonder, you can be sure that the 11 artworks and displays at this year's Gallery Children's Biennale will be nothing short of magical during the June school holidays 2019.
There's Stardust: Soaring Through the Sky's Embrace, where you cross a 16-metre bridge and peer down into what looks like an endless rock formation that glimmers and glows.
In Every World, where you enter five frosted domes made of paper cut-outs to experience the magic of five different landscapes, including underwater, underground and English and tropical gardens.
And in The Other Wall, you enter two traditional Burmese homes plated entirely in gold and get a rare glimpse into a typical Burmese childhood. It'll be a lovely afternoon of discovery, creativity and exploration for both you and your little one.
