The lorry involved in the incident was reported stolen, Seri Alam police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Sohaimi Ishak said.
The vehicle was spotted by a member of the public in the Tanjung Langsat industrial area, he added.
"Acting on the information provided, the police located the lorry but the suspect who was driving the truck refused to stop, resulting in a chase," Sohaimi said in a statement.
The Chinese man, who is in his 30s, drove dangerously while trying to evade the police and rammed into a police patrol car.

The suspect was eventually arrested in the Pasir Gudang area, where he was found with a transparent packet containing a substance believed to be drugs.
Sohaimi also revealed that the man, who has 27 previous criminal and drug-related offences, tested positive for methamphetamine.
Videos of the police pursuit posted on social media show the truck mounting road dividers to get to the other side of traffic while attempting to evade police officers.
In one instance, he was seen making a three-point turn near a bend as police officers closed in on him.
The man then drove off, forcing officers to give chase on foot.
The suspect is now being investigated for vehicle theft, reckless and dangerous driving, drug-related offences, as well as obstructing public servants from discharging their duties.
Sohaimi said the suspect will appear in court on Thursday, adding that the police will apply for him to be remanded to assist in investigations.
