A magnitude 3.1 earthquake struck the waters off Batu Pahat, Johor on Tuesday (Aug 25) afternoon.

An earthquake of magnitude 3.1 struck off the waters of Batu Pahat in Johor on Tuesday (Aug 25) afternoon. 

According to the Malaysian Meteorological Department, the earthquake happened at 4.12pm at a depth of 10km.

No tsunami warning was triggered.

This is the second earthquake detected off Batu Pahat in two months.

On June 21, an earthquake measuring 3.3 magnitude struck the waters off Batu Pahat, Johor at 1.17am.

The quake was also recorded at a depth of 10km.
