Anytime Fitness Asia's owner is looking to sell the franchise for about US$400 million (S$510 million), Bloomberg reported on Tuesday (Aug 18).

Citing people with knowledge of the matter, the business news wire reported that Inspire Brands Asia is working with an adviser on the planned divestment.

The consortium is in charge of the business running Anytime Fitness not just in Singapore, but also seven other Asian markets, and has apparently been contacting potential buyers, the report said.

Across these markets, Anytime Fitness Asia has over 600 clubs with more than 150 company-owned locations.

Inspire Brands Asia bought the business in 2020 following the Covid-19 pandemic.

AsiaOne has contacted Inspire Brands Asia and Anytime Fitness for more information.
