Oil prices fell on Tuesday as investors assessed the possibility of increased Russian energy supplies entering global markets against the backdrop of the ongoing Saudi-Houthi conflict and related supply disruptions.
The Trump administration had on Monday announced a temporary easing of restrictions on Russian fuel supplies, despite bipartisan criticism from US lawmakers, who warned that the move could undermine sanctions imposed over Moscow's ongoing war in Ukraine.
Under the agreement, Russia would be allowed to supply diesel to the US and global markets for six months.
