A Vote for the Future: Vinhomes Green Paradise Heads to the Global Vote in the '7 Wonders of Future Cities' Campaign

HO CHI MINH CITY, VIETNAM - Media OutReach Newswire - 24 September 2026 - For global citizens, a vote for a city can be a vote for the kind of future they want to build. For Vinhomes Green Paradise in Can Gio, that future is one where urban life and nature are designed to thrive together, a pioneering model of urban growth that has earned the development recognition from New7Wonders as the first Official Participant worldwide in its "7 Wonders of Future Cities" campaign.

Three Pillars of a Distinctive Candidate

The recognition highlights a vision of urban development that future generations can inherit and build upon. With expansive green spaces, nature-integrated landscapes and environmentally responsible solutions, Vinhomes Green Paradise is setting a new benchmark for communities that live in harmony with nature.

As the first project New7Wonders has recognized as an Official Participant, Vinhomes Green Paradise also underscores the international scale and ambition of a development conceived as a blueprint for 21st-century cities.

Under the New7Wonders evaluation framework, Vietnam's representative stands out across three core pillars: Environment & Nature, Smart Cities and People-Centered Development.

On Environment & Nature, the project draws on a rare coastal setting: it fronts the sea in Can Gio and borders the 75,000-hectare Can Gio Mangrove Biosphere Reserve, recognized by UNESCO. Spanning 2,870 hectares with a building density of just 16%, the development devotes a substantial share of its land to greenery and water, anchored by the 800-hectare natural saltwater Lagoon Lake at the heart of the urban area.

On Smart Cities, Vinhomes Green Paradise integrates the Internet of Things (IoT), big data and artificial intelligence into urban management, operations and environmental monitoring, creating a modern, safe and well-run urban environment.

The third pillar, People-Centered Development, reflects the project's philosophy of placing people at the heart of urban development. It takes shape in an integrated ecosystem of internationally oriented healthcare, education, senior living, culture, sports and entertainment.

Future residents will have access to world-class healthcare through Vinmec's collaboration with Cleveland Clinic of the United States; international-standard education through Vinschool and the U.K.'s Brighton College; premium senior living through Vin New Horizon; and a diverse range of cultural and leisure amenities, including the 7-hectare Blue Waves Theatre, two 18-hole golf courses designed by firms associated with Tiger Woods and Robert Trent Jones II, the 122-hectare seaside VinWonders complex and Cosmo Bay, an integrated dining, shopping and nightlife destination.

Jean-Paul de la Fuente, Director of New7Wonders and Chairman of the "7 Wonders of Future Cities" campaign, said Vinhomes Green Paradise fulfills the campaign's key criteria and reflects the pioneering mission of a leading Asian corporation that is proactively delivering on its ESG commitments, and going beyond them, across many areas of its operations.

He described the award of the first Official Participant certification as a symbolic moment for the campaign as a whole, and an opportunity to witness an exceptional urban environment taking shape, where nature, people and technology are integrated and elevated in harmony.

From Global ESG Standards to Regenerating Forests

What sets Vinhomes Green Paradise apart at its core is a development strategy that reaches beyond conventional sustainability frameworks. Rather than stopping at compliance with global ESG standards, the project is pioneering an enhanced ESG++ framework built on five pillars: Environmental, Social, Governance, Regeneration and Climate Adaptation.

This green vision is embedded from the construction stage onward. One example is K-DPM, a technology that transforms soft soil and dredged sediment into durable fill material, helping reduce indirect emissions and pollution while curbing reliance on natural sand extraction.

Once operational, the urban system is designed for comprehensive decarbonization, with a target of sourcing 100% of its electricity from clean energy, including offshore wind farms located 20 kilometers off the coast, complemented by solar power and battery energy storage systems.

Internal mobility is also designed around a net-zero-emission model, combining electric cars, motorcycles, buses and bicycles with electric boats, alongside a high-speed rail connection linking the development directly to central Ho Chi Minh City.

Beyond environmental compliance, Vinhomes Green Paradise places strong emphasis on conserving and regenerating native ecosystems while supporting Ho Chi Minh City's broader climate-adaptation strategy. A Forest Regeneration and Climate Adaptation Fund has been established to support long-term research, restoration and climate-response initiatives, with a particular focus on regenerating the Can Gio mangrove forest and strengthening its role as a green shield for the entire urban development.

To meet these objectives, Vinhomes Green Paradise is pursuing BREEAM and ISO 37122 certifications, two internationally recognized frameworks for sustainable buildings and smart cities. Through these efforts, the project aims to become a global ESG++ reference point and a new benchmark for the next generation of coastal cities.

Nguyen Thu Hang, CEO of Vinhomes, said Environment & Nature, Smart Cities and People-Centered Development are not only key strengths of Vinhomes Green Paradise on its journey toward the "7 Wonders of Future Cities," but also guiding principles for Vinhomes in creating a world-class urban landmark and a truly distinctive living environment for global citizens.

A Vote for Vinhomes Green Paradise, a Commitment to the Future of All Life

The vision embodied by Vinhomes Green Paradise reflects a broader shift in how the cities of tomorrow are being conceived. As urbanization accelerates and climate pressures mount, the future of cities will depend increasingly on their ability to coexist with, and regenerate, the natural systems that sustain life.

In this light, a vote for Vinhomes Green Paradise in the "7 Wonders of Future Cities" campaign is more than support for a single urban development. It can be seen as a vote for a future in which people and nature thrive together, one that extends beyond humanity to the countless other forms of life that share the planet with us.

A report by the One Ocean Foundation's Ocean Impact Initiative, Coastal Cities and the Ocean: Risks, Impacts, and the Path to Resilience , notes that approximately 70% of the world's largest megacities lie within 60 kilometers of the coast and together generate nearly half of global GDP, while facing growing exposure to climate-related risks. The report also highlights the significant potential of coastal cities to lead climate action through sustainable planning, stronger governance and nature-based solutions, an approach reflected in Vinhomes Green Paradise's strategy to conserve and regenerate the Can Gio mangrove ecosystem.

Recognition as the first Official Participant in the "7 Wonders of Future Cities" campaign marks an important milestone for Vinhomes Green Paradise, highlighting its vision, capabilities and international ambition. On this foundation, the project is emerging as an Asian representative on a global journey to explore what the cities of the future can become. The global voting phase is scheduled to open on October 31, 2026.

For Vinhomes Green Paradise, the journey has already begun, guided by a vision of a future in which a city is not built apart from nature but as part of a living ecosystem, where people, technology and all forms of life can flourish together.
