4 Major Reasons To Watch ONE: DESTINY OF CHAMPIONS

ONE Championship will call an end to its calendar year on Friday, 7 December in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The promotion will hold ONE: DESTINY OF CHAMPIONS at the Axiata Arena, and an exciting 12-bout thriller has been put together for its 2018 grand finale.

In the main event, Muay Thai legend Yodsanklai IWE Fairtex takes on Australia’s Luis Regis. Also, some of the host nation’s best talent will be featured on this blockbuster card.

Here are four major reasons why you need to watch ONE: DESTINY OF CHAMPIONS.

#1 A Historic Muay Thai Battle

There have been many Muay Thai competitions to grace Malaysia, but Yodsanklai IWE Fairtex’s bout against Luis Regis will be the biggest Muay Thai battle to ever happen in the country.

In fact, it will be a history-making affair, as a ONE Super Series Muay Thai bout will be featured in the main event for the first time in the promotion’s history.

With multiple world title victories and 275 bouts under his belt, fans can expect the always-exciting Yodsanklai to engage in a highlight-reel striking contest.

As for his opponent, Regis, he brings a technical Muay Thai style with him to the cage, and will look to earn the biggest victory of his career.

#2 Malaysian Heroes Set To Raise The Roof

There will be three Malaysian stars in action, all of whom look to make the host nation proud.

Agilan “Alligator” Thani takes on Kyrgyzstan’s Kiamrian Abbasov in the co-main event, while Jihin “Shadow Cat” Radzuan battles former ONE Women’s Atomweight World Title challenger Jenny “Lady GoGo” Huang on the main card.

In addition to that, ONE Super Series will welcome Mohammed “Jordan Boy” Bin Mahmoud to the fold. The 22-year-old striker will face Stergos “Greek Dynamite” Mikkios in a Muay Thai bantamweight clash.

#3 A Must-Watch Bout

Before the co-main and main event takes center stage, there is an epic bantamweight mixed martial arts bout that is guaranteed to set off fireworks.

Undefeated Japanese star Daichi Takenaka will square off against South Korean-American Kevin “Oldboy” Chung in what looks be a battle among grappling specialists.

Expect both athletes to aim for a one-two, and then shoot for the takedown.

With six submissions between the pair, a victory here could see the winner move up the ranks en route to a shot at the ONE Bantamweight World Title.

#4 A Former World Champion Returns

ONE: DESTINY OF CHAMPIONS marks the return of former ONE Middleweight World Champion Vitaly Bigdash.

The big Russian takes on a very experienced opponent in Pancrase Middleweight World Champion Yuki Niimura at the Axiata Arena on Friday.

Niimura, his Japanese counterpart, is a knockout specialist who will be making his promotional debut.

The 36-year-old has recorded nine victories by way of knockout or TKO, and the Russian should be wary of his rival’s striking prowess as he seeks to put his past two matches to dust with a victory.
