Mohammad “O Lutador” Karaki is ready to shock the martial arts world and Aung La N Sang in his ONE Championship debut.

The undefeated Lebanese contender will challenge the ONE Middleweight World Champion in the main event of ONE: PURSUIT OF GREATNESS in Yangon, Myanmar on 26 October.

The challenger may be a new name to many, but he heads into his World Title bout with “The Burmese Python” with bundles of confidence.

He is undefeated with a 9-0 record, which includes eight wins by stoppage, and has seen him become the Desert Force Middleweight and Light Heavyweight Champion, as well as the Phoenix Middleweight Champion.

“The experience I’ve acquired as a fighter in recent years gives me a big push ahead of the fight,” the 27-year-old says.

“All the competitions I’ve taken part in have helped me gain experience in controlling my opponents during fights and overcoming the odds to amaze everyone.”

His first assignment as a ONE athlete is as tough as they come. Aung La N Sang is a two-division World Champion with an unbeaten record in the Thuwunna Indoor Stadium, which will be the venue for their clash.

Karaki acknowledges the scale of the task ahead, but says that after spending part of his training camp at the acclaimed American Top Team in Florida, he is ready to meet the challenge head-on.

“I have never been this prepared for a fight,” Karaki says.

“After working with the best mixed martial artists, I’m more than ready.

“I’ve watched all of his fights to see how they went. I wanted to make sure I know my opponent as well as possible.

“I will need to act fast inside the cage based on what’s happening to use my strengths and attack his weaknesses.”

Karaki knows he heads into his title tilt with Aung La N Sang as a significant underdog, but he is content in that role, and promises to deliver a performance to prove the doubters wrong.

“Everyone has always told me that I don’t have a chance and that winning would be difficult, but this gives me an extra push to prove them wrong,” he says.

“I do not accept losing. I am preparing and have no doubt that I will be ready for a big fight.”
