SEOUL — South Korea's presidential office on Friday (Aug 21) called on North Korea to stop "unnecessary slander" and move forward together for peace on the Korean Peninsula, according to South Korean media reports.

The remarks were in response to comments by Kim Yo-j`ong, the influential sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, who criticised President Lee Jae-myung a day earlier for what she described as "double-dealing" remarks over the scaling back of US-South Korea military drills.
