A Thai civil servant has gone viral for her makeup style, and wants netizens to know that she has no plans to change it.

The civil servant, who goes by Tasnime Nee Nee on Facebook, attended a meeting on Monday (Aug 3) in Yala, a southern province in Thailand, according to a post by the local organisation.

The post features pictures of other civil servants in attendance, though Tasnime stands out with her thick makeup featuring heavy black eyeliner, pale foundation and bright red lipstick.

The post has since garnered almost 30,000 likes and over 10,000 shares.

Netizens flooded the comments section, with some expressing disbelief over the pictures.

One commented: "I thought I was being pranked, so I checked the official page... It's real!"

Another wrote: "What should I focus on?"

Meanwhile, others praised Tasnime for embracing her own style, saying: "I love it! People really ought to have their own unique style like this — it's fabulous."

At the same time, some netizens left negative comments ridiculing her makeup.

In response, Tasnime took to her personal Facebook page on Aug 6, saying that she is considering legal action against defamatory remarks.

"I don't understand why you think that I'm doing something wrong by wearing makeup like this," she said, adding that netizens should not be leaving such comments on municipal pages.

She said: "If you don't like it, simply don't look."

Netizens rallied behind her in the comments section, encouraging her to ignore the negativity and to be confident in herself.
