Call it heightened safe-distancing measures; call it a soft lockdown; call it a circuit breaker period; call it whatever you want — the bottom line is that everyone must stay home as much as humanly possible. Flatten the curve, people.

But cabin fever is very real, and there are only so many ways for you to keep yourself entertained indoors.

Enter u/qilun56757, a hero of sorts who wants to help keep everybody safe (and sane) during the month-long period indoors. On Monday (April 6), the Redditor went into the Singapore subreddit and announced that he’s got over 100 PC video games to give out for free.

“In light of recent measures taken by the SG Government to combat the ongoing pandemic, staying home for the coming month can grow to be boring and unproductive real fast, I hope this giveaway is something I could do to encourage people to stay at home,” the Redditor posted.

And the games that were up for grabs aren’t your rinky-dink bargain-bin video games either (though most of them aren’t exactly new releases). There were the AAA likes of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, FIFA 2019, Assassin’s Creed Origins, Sniper Elite 3, Street Fighter V — titles that cost up to $80 at launch and now totally free. Not to mention critically-acclaimed indie games like Frostpunk, GRiS, Hollow Knight, My Friend Pedro, and more.

It should go without mentioning that most of the 111 games have already been claimed, though you can still grab the remaining few titles (if they’re still available as of writing).

The Redditor is not alone in this endeavour, though. Across the world, the entire gaming industry has banded together to offer free or heavily discounted titles for people to while their time away at home during the pandemic. Heck, even the World Health Organisation — once panned for classifying video gaming addiction as a mental disorder — is encouraging people to pick up gaming controllers, keyboards, and handhelds alike to play games together, but in their separate homes.
