BTS’ Suga was featured in Dilraba Dilmurat’s new drama and his fans aren’t too happy about it.

Sword Rose follows police officer Deng Yan (played by 33-year-old Dilraba) who becomes her city’s new anti-trafficking office director.

The drama premiered on July 28 and during a recent episode, a wall displaying pictures of missing children was shown, and eagle-eyed netizens discovered that one of the photos is of BTS’ Suga in his childhood.

His fans quickly came to his defence on social media, claiming that his photo was used without permission and demanded an apology from the broadcaster and drama production team, which have yet to respond.

“It's ironic that this is an anti-trafficking drama that is supposed to promote justice and respect,” remarked one fan on Weibo.

Others urged fans not to criticise Suga or Dilraba, saying that the fault lies with the drama.

Sword Rose is Dilraba’s comeback to the small screens since her last dramas in 2023, The Legend of Anle and Prosecution Elite.

In April this year, her fans were up in arms against a short web drama for seemingly using AI to face-swap her.
