28 hawker centres to close for cleaning third week of September

A total of 28 hawker centres across Singapore will close for one to four days from Sept 14 to Sept 20 for cleaning.
According to the National Environmental Agency, such cleaning is conducted regularly so that Singaporeans can enjoy affordable food in a clean and hygienic environment.
The hawker centres undergoing cleaning include Maxwell Food Centre, Whampoa Drive Makan Place, Yuhua Market and Hawker Centre, among others.

In addition, two hawker centres — Kim Keat Palm Market and Food Centre at Toa Payoh Lorong 7 and Blk 726 Clementi West Street 2 — will undergo repairs and redecoration works starting Sept 14.
The works are slated to be completed on Dec 13 and Dec 27 respectively.
There are a total of 123 markets and hawker centres across Singapore.
