If you're the midst of decorating your home or in the mood for a makeover, it may not be the time to go out furniture shopping right now.

So, we've gathered a list of online stores with the coolest furniture and home accents that aren't your run-of-the-mill pieces. It'll be tough but maybe just don't spend too much time lurking on these sites.

Living DNA

The brand prides itself on its rug collection but we're also dreamy-eyed over its curated trove of other home accessories and furniture.

Sourced from all over the world, its vibrant enamel trays from Istanbul, lampshades made in Transylvania, patterned jars and cushion covers lend a dose of cheer and character to your home.

Rockett St George

For kooky finds brimming with personality and a touch of vintage glam, shop Rockett St George.

The homeware emporium was started in 2007 by Lucy St George and Jane Rockett, who were inspired by their love for trawling antique shops, flea markets and car boot sales.

Unfortunately, the London-based online store is unable to ship large furniture or fragile items overseas, but its expansive collection of smaller furniture items and curiosities are worth browsing, too.

Kickstarter

It's no news that Kickstarter has plenty of ultra-cool gadgets.

The latest campaign that's caught our eye?

The Building Brick Waffle Maker that actually lets you play with your food. Created by Cucina Pro, it's like your regular waffle maker (all you have to do is pour the batter in) but with a plate that creates waffles in the shape of LEGO-style building blocks.

It even comes with studs on the bottoms and indentations on top so you can interlock the pieces.

Pledges start at US$50 (S$71), and up to US$100 for a set with additional plates bearing different shapes.

It has already reached its funding goal and shipping is slated for August this year.

Naiise

One of the most recognisable names in the local lifestyle scene, this is where you can find quirky knick knacks, accessories and even furniture, from a novelty lightbulb in the shape of a faucet to a metallic outdoor rabbit-shaped chair - and this is just gleaning the surface of what it has to offer.

These include pieces from international designers like Qeeboo and District Eight, and its own collection PLAYplay that'll make a statement in your abode.
