We took it for a trial run. Fashioned with a breathable soft knit upper, it wraps snugly without being too tight, and there’s a sock liner that holds everything in place. The Fresh Foam midsole offers great cushioning and bounce, and it’s lightweight, making it a dream on the pavement whether you’re looking to rack up the miles or for an easy run.

Under Armour Women's UA Flow Velociti Wind Running Shoes, $229

Prefer running with your feet a little closer to ground? Get this lightweight shoe on your radar. It’s lightweight but boasts responsive and cushioning thanks to a one-piece midsole that uses a Flow technology.

It’s also designed to for a snug, close-to-foot fit. And you can even hook it up to to UA Mapmyrun app to track and analyse your running metrics.

Lane Eight Trainer AD 1 (HKD $400, approx. S$140)

Sustainability is at the heart of Hong Kong-based shoe brand, Lane Eight, evident from how its signature Trainer AD 1 is crafted.

Its eco-friendly midsole is made from toxic algae blooms that otherwise pollute waterways, and according to the company, each pair returns 31.5 liters of freshwater back to the environment and removes 64 cubic meters of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. And the knit upper comprises recycled polyester yarn made from plastic bottles.

Each pair is designed to hug, so if you usually wear thicker socks, go one size up.
