Love them or hate them, your monolids are a part of who you are. According to this scientific report, approximately 50 per cent of Asians have monolids. But, what once was considered unattractive is not being celebrated thanks to all the Asian models who walk international runways and have fronted beauty campaigns.

So, instead of hating on your lids, start to embrace them and learn how you can make them up so they look amazing all the time.

SKIP THE BOTTOM LINER

Tight lining your bottom lash line will do nothing but make your eyes look even smaller. So skip the eyeliner and opt for mascara instead. It'll bring out your eyes even more.

Alternatively, line the bottom lids with white eyeliner to create the illusion of bigger eyes.

FOCUS ON THE INNER CORNERS

With monolids, you want to give them a bit more definition. To do this, focus on highlighting the inner corner of your eyelids, this helps to bring the attention to the inner corners and create the illusion of depth.

DO A GRADIENT EYESHADOW

As mentioned above, you want to create an illusion of depth to your eyes and the best way to do it is with eyeshadow.

Just before dabbing the inner corner of your eyes with lighter eyeshadow, apply primer and brush over a nude shade all over your eyelids. This creates a good base. Afterwards, take a soft rounded brush and create a bit of shading on the outer eyelids.

Finish off by highlighting the inner corners and a coat of mascara!

KEEP YOUR EYEBROWS NEAT

Because of the fact that monolids give you so much more lid space, people tend to notice the facial features around them so make sure you keep your eyebrows as neat as possible.

HAVE FUN WITH IT

With monolids, the possibility is endless. Whether it's fun blue eyeliner or glossy lids, you can do them all because your lids don't run the risk of smudging and creasing as much.
