A 14-year-old teenager caused two traffic accidents after driving a family car through the streets of Penang.

After crashing the car twice, the youth was scolded by an angry passer-by as a crowd formed around them.

One video circulating on social media shows a man launching into a tirade while the teen remains slumped in the driver's seat.

In other clips, the youth is seen grabbing the wheel with both hands and wailing in distress.

The car bore parking stickers for persons with disabilities. Its rear windscreen was shattered in the accidents.

Seberang Perai Tengah district police chief Nik Aminuddin Raja Abdullah said that the accidents occurred at about 4.50pm on Tuesday (Sept 15).

According to Nik Aminuddin, the teen had first collided with a car parked on the road shoulder.

The teen did not stop, and allegedly went against traffic on a one-way lane. This caused a crash with another car that had the right of way.

No injuries were reported, but all three cars were damaged.

Malaysian media outlet China Press reported that the teen's father and brother arrived at the scene after the crash.

Police are investigating the case for reckless and dangerous driving.
