A total of 303 bicycles, parked indiscriminately or abandoned at bicycle parking areas, have been removed from bicycle parking facilities around key transport nodes since January this year.

The Land Transport Authority (LTA) said in a social media post on Thursday (Nov 5) that the operations were carried out at bicycle parking areas in Admiralty, Aljunied, Sembawang, Tampines, Yishun and several other locations.

It added that its officers will continue to take action against indiscriminately parked or abandoned bicycles around key transport nodes.

In an earlier post in June, LTA had explained that bicycles found to be parked indiscriminately, or are believed to be abandoned, will first be tagged with a notice.

If such bicycles and devices are still not removed within the stipulated period, they may then be removed.

The latest round of removals bring the total number of bicycles removed since January to 489.

Cyclists can use the MyTransport.SG app to identify bicycle parking locations near them, including at shopping malls.

"Park right, leave space for others," the regulator added.
