SBS Transit has lodged a police report after a boy was filmed hurling a bag towards the tracks at Cove LRT station.

In a video shared on social media on Tuesday (Sept 29), a boy at the station platform can be seen hitting a grey bag on the ground before throwing it towards the tracks.

The incident has since drawn concern from the public, with some questioning what the bag contained.

"Police will come look for you," one netizen wrote. Another added: "Let their parents see this please."

"I hope it's not an animal inside that bag," one commented.

SBS Transit told AsiaOne that they are aware of the incident involving an individual who was seen standing on the boarding platform and flinging an object out of the station.

The incident occurred at about 11pm on Sept 27 at Cove LRT Station on the Punggol East Loop.

"We do not take this lightly as it is a matter of public safety and have since lodged a police report for this act of mischief," said SBS Transit spokesperson Grace Wu.

Based on CCTV footage, the individual was part of a group of five, four of whom had not tapped in at the fare gates when they entered the station.

"This constitutes fare evasion, which is an offence, and we are looking into the matter," she said.

Responding to queries from AsiaOne, the police confirmed that a report was lodged and investigations are ongoing.
