Car crashes into walkway outside Mandarin Gallery, 1 taken to hospital

A pedestrian was injured and taken to the hospital after a car veered off the road and crashed into the walkway on Orchard Road.

The incident was captured and uploaded to Instagram by an account called Toan in Singapore on Wednesday (Aug 5).

Footage shows a grey car on the kerb amid some shrubbery outside Mandarin Gallery, with an ambulance parked next to it.

The car also appears to have crashed into a traffic control box, which is tilted from the collision.

Paramedics are also seen attending to a woman seated on the ground with several passersby observing the scene.

In response to AsiaOne's queries, the police said that the incident happened on Wednesday at around 3.50pm along Grange Road towards Orchard Link.

The 25-year-old female pedestrian involved was taken conscious to Raffles Hospital, while a 20-year-old male car driver is assisting with police investigations, said the authorities.
