21 hawker centres to close for cleaning second week of September

A total of 21 hawker centres across Singapore will close for one to three days next week (Sept 7 to Sept 13) for cleaning.

According to the National Environmental Agency, such cleaning is conducted regularly so that Singaporeans can enjoy affordable food in a clean and hygienic environment.

The hawker centres undergoing cleaning include People's Park Food Centre, Geylang Serai Market, One Punggol Hawker Centre among others.

Two hawker centres, Kim Keat Palm Market and Food Centre at Toa Payoh Lorong 7 and Blk 726 Clementi West Street 2, will undergo repairs and redecoration works starting Sept 14.

The works are slated to be completed on Dec 13 and Dec 27 respectively.

There are 123 markets and hawker centres across Singapore.
