A 47-year-old man died after an accident involving a trailer truck along Kranji Expressway (KJE) on Tuesday (Oct 27) morning.

In response to AsiaOne's queries, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said that it was alerted to a road traffic accident along KJE towards the Bukit Timah Expressway (BKE) near Woodlands exit at about 7:20am.

The police also said that they were alerted to an accident involving a car, a motorcycle and a prime mover with trailer along KJE towards BKE at around the same time.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene by an SCDF paramedic.

Police investigations are ongoing.

In a video of the accident posted by TikTok user QX on Tuesday, a blue police tent can be seen pitched next to a blue trailer truck and surrounded by multiple traffic cones.

Underneath the truck’s flatbed trailer, a motorcycle can also be seen lying on its side.

The video shows several SCDF personnel and Land Transport Authority traffic marshals on site.

A red car can be seen parked in front of the truck, with an ambulance and an SCDF firetruck further down the road.

The Traffic Police mid-year report published on Aug 28 showed an increase in road accidents and casualties in the first half of the year.

The number of accidents resulting in injuries rose by 3.2 per cent to 3,869, up from 3,748 in the same period last year.
