Marina Bridge to close for maintenance from Aug 17 to 20


PUBLISHED ONAugust 15, 2026 1:30 AMBYSean LerIf you are planning to visit the Marina Barrage next week, or are a frequent user of the Marina Bridge, take note that it will be closed for large parts of the day due to maintenance works.
In a notice published on its website on Friday (Aug 14), Singapore's national water agency, PUB, said the Marina Bridge and Crest Gates will be undergoing maintenance from Aug 17 to 20.

It added that the bridge will be closed to the public from 9am to 11.30pm daily.
However, periodic access will be granted at identified intervals throughout the day to facilitate the needs of bridge users.

The Marina Barrage was officially opened on Oct 31, 2008, and serves as Singapore's 15th reservoir.
The barrage is considered a three-in-one project as it serves the needs of creating a new source of water supply, acting as a tool for flood control, and providing a new lifestyle attraction.
