More than 10 migrant workers and passer-bys helped to move the fallen tree off the road.
The incident happened at the intersection between MacPherson Road and Jalan Wangi at around 6pm, Lianhe Zaobao reported.
The road was cleared in about five minutes.
A woman, who was on a bus travelling along the affected road, posted a video of the incident on social media.
According to her, people who had alighted from the buses realised that the fallen tree was blocking the road, so they helped to push it away. Others removed branches off the road.
"So much community spirit, all because they don’t want a roadblock," she wrote.
Her social media post has garnered over 5,000 'likes', with netizens commending everyone involved for their teamwork and kampung spirit.
One of them commented: "Feeling the love from everyone helping out. Some just walked over including the foreign workers without asking or hesitation. Just awesome!"
Another netizen thanked the Good Samaritans, saying that she was waiting at the bus stop further down the road, wondering why the buses weren't arriving.
