Motorcyclist, 31, taken unconscious to hospital after Defu accident involving tipper truck

A 31-year-old man was taken unconscious to the hospital following an accident along Defu on Monday (March 30).

Responding to queries from AsiaOne, the police and Singapore Civil Defence Force said they were alerted to an accident involving a motorcycle and a tipper truck along Defu Avenue 1 towards Hougang Avenue 7 at about 6.20pm. 

The 31-year-old male motorcyclist was taken unconscious to Changi General Hospital, while the 41-year-old male tipper truck driver is assisting with investigations, said the police. 

A photo of the post-accident scene, shared by a Shin Min Daily News reader, shows paramedics tending to a person lying on the road, with what appears to be a fallen safety pole beside them.

The motorcyclist is currently conscious and in stable condition, according to The Straits Times.

Police investigations are ongoing.
