A motorcyclist was flung across three lanes following a collision with a car on the Pan-Island Expressway (PIE) on Sept 12.

In a video posted by SG Road Vigilante on Sept 16, a grey Honda CR-V can be seen travelling along the PIE towards Changi.

The footage appears to show the SUV changing lanes near Exit 24 towards the Bukit Timah Expressway. While doing so, the car appears to almost hit a motorcyclist.

The motorcyclist is then seen gesturing towards the car as both vehicles continue along the expressway.

Dashcam footage appears to show the car and motorcycle colliding.

The impact sends the rider flying across three lanes of the expressway, while the motorcycle slides further away across the carriageway.

Vehicles on the expressway can be seen slowing down after the crash as the rider lies on the road, clutching his right arm.

Two other motorcyclists are seen stopping near the rider, perhaps to alert oncoming motorists to the incident.

The SUV is also seen stopped on the first lane of the road, a few metres from where the rider landed, as several vehicles pass by.

In response to AsiaOne's queries, the police said they were alerted to an accident involving a car and a motorcycle along Loyang Avenue on Sept 12 at around 1.15pm.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) told AsiaOne that they were alerted to the same road traffic accident along the PIE towards Changi before the Eng Neo Avenue exit at about 1.20pm.

A 32-year-old motorcyclist was taken to Tan Tock Seng Hospital conscious, according to both the police and SCDF.

The police added that the man is assisting with investigations under the Protection from Harassment Act 2014.

Police investigations are ongoing.
