All MyRepublic customers to move from M1 to Starhub network

StarHub will move all of MyRepublic 4G customers onto its network, the telco said on Thursday (Aug 6).

This follows the companies' existing Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) 5G wholesale partnership established in 2022, and StarHub's $105 million acquisition of MyRepublic's broadband business in 2025.

An MVNO is a wireless service provider that enters into wholesale agreements with major telecom companies to lease their existing physical network infrastructure.

MyRepublic has been leasing its 4G mobile network from M1 since September 2020.

StarHub and MyRepublic did not specify a timeline for the transition nor reveal how many customers are affected by the switch. 

"There is no need for MyRepublic 4G customers to do anything at this stage," said MyRepublic CEO Vaughan Baker.

He added: "Our customer service team will be in touch soon to ensure a smooth network transition."

StarHub also assured in its press release that MyRepublic customers can continue to enjoy seamless access to StarHub's nationwide 4G and 5G network throughout the transition.

StarHub already held a controlling stake of 50.1 per cent in MyRepublic's broadband business since 2022, before gaining full ownership in the acquitision deal last year.

Nikhil Eapen, StarHub CEO, said the telco is leading the ongoing consolidation of Singapore's telecommunications market.

The move also further strengthens the company's multi-brand strategy, serving different customer needs with both mobile and broadband offered through distinct brands.

On June 30, MVNO redONE Singapore ceased operations, and its customers transitioned to StarHub's budget subsidiary Eight.
