Lorry catches fire along Race Course Road

The incident happened along Race Course Road at about 2.15am.
A video of the incident posted on social media shows the lorry stopped along one of two lanes of the road.
Flames can be seen burning through the lorry's rear, where goods are usually stowed, but the driver's cabin was not affected by the fire.
Firefighters can also be seen using a hose reel and a water jet to put out the fire.

After the fire was put out, only the frame of the lorry's cargo area was left, with most of the top and sides burnt through.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force told AsiaOne that the fire involved the engine compartment of the lorry, adding that no injuries were reported in the incident.
Fire investigations are ongoing.
