In its daily haze situation update on Monday (Nov 2), the National Environment Agency (NEA) said winds are expected to blow mostly from the east or south-east.
While this could transport smoke haze to Singapore, the agency also pointed out that showers forecast over Sumatra, Kalimantan and the surrounding region are likely to help keep the haze situation suppressed.
The 24-hour Pollutant Standards Index (PSI) forecast is between 51 to 80 — in the moderate range.
At 7pm, hourly PM2.5 is in the normal band (0 - 55 µg/m3), with concentration readings between 21 and 25.
Meanwhile, PSI ranges from 63 in the eastern region to 81 in western Singapore.
In its fortnightly weather outlook for the first half of November issued on Oct 29, the National Environment Agency said moderate to heavy thundery showers are expected over parts of the island on most days, with the showers extending into the evening on a few days.
