Singapore Airlines named World's Best Airline for sixth time at 2026 Skytrax Awards

SIA has also clinched awards for Best Airline in Asia, World's Best Economy Class and World's Best Economy Class Onboard Catering during the awards ceremony held in London on Friday (Sept 18).
"We are grateful to our customers for their trust and support, and we are committed to delivering a exceptional, world-class travel experience every time they fly with us," said Goh Choon Phong, chief executive officer of Singapore Airlines.
He added that the award is a testament to "the dedication and professionalism" of their staff, who uphold SIA's "renowned standards for service and operational excellence".
SIA's low-cost subsidiary, Scoot, was also named World's Best Long Haul Low-Cost Airline for the sixth consecutive year.
Leslie Thng, chief executive officer of Scoot, said it was an honour to receive the award.
"This recognition validates Scoot's commitment to providing our customers with comfortable, reliable and seamless travel experiences," said Thng.
Thng thanked Scoot's loyal customers and valued industry partners, adding that the airline will continue to innovate, strengthen operational excellence and enhance customer experience.
In a Sept 18 press release, SIA said the awards were based on a survey of more than 24.8 million travellers globally, who rated over 300 airlines between September 2025 and August 2026.
The chief executive officer of Skytrax, Edward Plaisted, congratulated the Singapore Airlines Group on the achievement.
"These successes highlight the level of product and service excellence they are providing to customers and should be a source of great pride and motivation for the management and staff in the Group," said Plaisted.
