A Traffic Police outrider was among three people injured after he rear-ended a car on PIE on Wednesday (Nov 4) morning.

The accident involved two cars and two motorcycles and happened at about 7.10am in the direction of Tuas, near the Eng Neo Avenue exit.

Dashcam footage of the accident posted on social media shows a black Toyota car on the second rightmost lane of the expressway.

A traffic cop is seen approaching the car on the rightmost lane with one hand raised slightly above the handlebar.

As he catches up with the driver, he turns his head slightly towards the vehicle, but fails to notice that the car in front had stopped and is unable to brake in time.

The rear-end crash flings the officer into the air and over his bike.

Debris is seen flying across the path of the dashcam vehicle, which had switched lanes in time to avoid the accident.

Meanwhile, the black car and a trailing motorcycle were unable to avoid the Traffic Police motorcycle.
