Family spots unsupervised toddler outside Punggol Coast Mall, helps reunite him with father

A toddler was spotted wandering alone on the road outside Punggol Coast Mall on Saturday (Aug 16), but a family in a passing car stepped in to bring him to safety.
The incident occurred at around 6pm, when Hamad Gaddafi Fauzi and his wife were exiting the mall's carpark.
In a TikTok video uploaded by user hyfasayf on Sunday, dashcam footage showed their car approaching the mall entrance after leaving the carpark.
As the car neared a zebra crossing at the mall entrance, a young child could be seen crossing the road by himself, directly in the path of the vehicle.
Hamad stopped the vehicle and picked up the boy, who appeared to be alone.
The family could be heard reacting in disbelief, before stopping their car to bring the child to safety.

Speaking to CNA, Hamad said he then searched for the boy's guardian by walking towards a nearby bus interchange and along a pathway leading to the mall.
Hamad said the boy was eventually reunited with his father about 250m from the spot where he was found.
According to Hamad, the father explained that the boy had run off very quickly.
AsiaOne has reached out to Hamad for comment.
