Heavy rain is expected over southern, eastern, and central Singapore on Sunday (Oct 25) evening.

In a weather warning issued at 5.42pm, the Meteorological Service Singapore (MSS) said that moderate to heavy thundery showers with gusty winds are expected between 6.10pm and 7.10pm.

This was later extended till 8pm.

Checks of the service’s weather radar at 6pm showed moderate to heavy rain clouds over the southern region. Rain clouds were also observed to the south-west of Singapore.

Meanwhile, national water agency, PUB has issued flood risk alert(s) for the following area(s):

  • Jalan Boon Lay (from International Road to Enterprise Road), till 7.37pm
  • Junction of Boon Lay Way and Corporation Road, till 7.48pm

In its daily haze situation update on Saturday evening, the National Environment Agency (NEA) said showers are forecast over Singapore and the region on Sunday.

This, along with winds forecast to turn to blow from the southeast or west, means the transport of smoke haze to Singapore could be limited, the agency added.

On the haze situation for Monday and Tuesday, NEA said: "The haze situation is likely to improve."

This, it explained, is due to the forecast of showers and prevailing winds.

At 6pm, hourly PM2.5 is in the normal band islandwide.
