An 18-year-old woman was taken to hospital after a multi-vehicle collision on the ECP on Monday (Aug 17) morning.

Responding to queries from AsiaOne, the police and Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said they were alerted to an accident involving five cars along the ECP towards Changi Airport at about 8.40am.

The police said an 18-year-old female passenger was taken to Changi General Hospital.

Two other people were assessed by SCDF for minor injuries but declined to be taken to hospital.

The police added that the drivers are assisting with ongoing investigations.

Footage of the accident's aftermath shared on social media on Monday shows at least four vehicles involved in the collision along the far-right lane of the expressway.

A blue taxi, believed to be operated by ComfortDelGro, can be seen with significant damage to its front bumper.

A dark grey MPV also appears to have collided with the rear of a white car, with debris scattered across the road.

AsiaOne has reached out to ComfortDelgro for comment.
