The Immigration and Checkpoints Authority said in an update at 11pm on Friday (Aug 28) that heavy departure traffic at Woodlands Checkpoint has subsided.
Travellers departing Singapore via Woodlands Checkpoint are advised that there is currently heavy departure traffic.
In an update posted on its social media at 5.26pm on Friday (Aug 28), the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) informed motorists that delays are expected.
They are also advised to check traffic conditions before departure.
Checks by AsiaOne on the Land Transport Authority's (LTA) traffic cameras indicate that the heavy traffic is not due to tailback from Malaysia.
The queue is seen stretching past Woodlands Crossing, to the Woodlands Avenue 3 exit (Exit 10A) on the Bukit Timah Expressway.
Motorists are advised to check ICA's Facebook for more updates and to plan their journeys early.
Meanwhile, Malaysia is entering a three-day Merdeka Day long weekend till Aug 31.
PLUS Malaysia, the country's largest highway operator, said in a statement on Wednesday that traffic is expected to be heavier from Aug 28 to 31, and again from Sept 4 to 7, as travel demand increases over the holiday period.
An estimated 2.2 million vehicles are expected to ply its highways daily during the said periods.
