A pregnant woman gave birth in a car while two Malaysian police officers raced to get her to a hospital in Hulu Selangor, according to a Facebook (FB) post by Polis Daerah Hulu Selangor.

The incident happened on Wednesday (Sept 30), when the officers were on routine patrol along Jalan Kuala Kali and were flagged down by a man driving a Nissan Almera.

According to the FB post, the man then told Corporal Mohd Firdaus and Constable Alif Afiq that his heavily pregnant friend was in labour and needed to get to a hospital quickly.

The officers immediately alerted the Hulu Selangor District Control Centre and their supervisor, Sergeant Alzoniza, before escorting the car to Hospital Kuala Kubu Bharu.

They helped clear the way for the vehicle, ensuring it could reach the hospital safely and quickly.

By the time they arrived at around 8.30pm, the woman had already given birth to her baby inside the car.

The Facebook post said both mother and baby were safe and in good condition.

The police said the incident reflected the force's commitment to serving and assisting the community.

The officers' swift response earned praise online, with many commending them for coming to the family's aid and extending their well wishes to the mother and her newborn.
