A total of 10 men, aged between 28 and 77, will be charged in court on Tuesday (Sept 1) for their alleged involvement in separate molestation cases.

The cases took place between July 2025 and June this year, the police said in a news release on Monday night.

Among the 10 cases, the youngest victim was a 16-year-old girl with severe intellectual disability. She was allegedly molested by a 76-year-old man at a sheltered walkway along Clementi Avenue 3 last October.

Police said the matter was immediately reported to them by two bystanders, and they arrested the man, who was found to be a friend of a family member.

He will be charged with one count of outrage of modesty of a vulnerable person.

The second case involving a 21-year-old woman with intellectual disability happened on Sept 25, 2025.

According to the police, a 40-year-old man allegedly molested his 21-year-old then-colleague at a garbage disposal room of a nursery along Jalan Lekar in Choa Chu Kang.

The matter was reported to the police on the same day, and he was arrested within two hours.

He will also be charged with one count of outrage of modesty of a vulnerable person.

Meanwhile, another case involving a 27-year-old domestic helper took place between July 23 and Sept 1 last year.

A 59-year-old male suspect had allegedly molested his helper on multiple occasions at his residential unit along Martin Place.

After the matter was reported to the police, the man was arrested within four hours.

He now faces an amalgamated charge of outrage of modesty of a domestic worker, as well as two additional outrage of modesty charges involving a domestic worker.

The offence of outrage of modesty carries a penalty of up to three years' jail, a fine, caning, or a combination of such punishments.

Those who target vulnerable persons or domestic workers may be sentenced to twice the maximum punishment.

The seven other men are accused of molesting women in a range of settings, including a hospital, lounge, club, hotel, residential units, public roads and public areas.

In one case, a ride-hailing driver was allegedly molested by an intoxicated passenger, while another suspect allegedly molested two women at a lounge within minutes of each other.

Police said several of the cases were detected with the help of bystanders, security personnel, members of the public and CCTV footage.

Spot something? Report it

The police said the cases show that outrage of modesty offences can occur between individuals known to each other, as well as between strangers.

According to the police's annual crime brief for 2025, there were 1,531 molest cases and 479 rape cases last year.

The majority of rape cases and more than half of the outrage of modesty cases involved offenders known to the victims.

"Offenders who abuse positions of trust, familiarity or access to prey on victims will be dealt with sternly in accordance with the law," the police warned.

They also emphasised that several of the cases were successfully detected with the assistance of bystanders, friends, security personnel and members of the public who intervened, rendered assistance or promptly alerted the police.

"Their actions helped to safeguard victims, preserve evidence and facilitated swift Police action," the police stated.

Members of the public are encouraged to remain vigilant and to take action if they witness or encounter sexual crimes.

Under the SPOT protocol — which stands for "Spot. Protect. Observe. Tell." — members of the public are encouraged to stay alert and play their part in looking out for potential victims and danger in the community.

They are also encouraged to step forward to protect victims, when it is safe to do so. Details such as the perpetrator's appearance, clothing, time, location and direction of travel are useful observations for investigators.
