SBF chairman Mark Lee to succeed Teo Siong Seng as Enterprise Singapore board member


PUBLISHED ONAugust 31, 2026 8:48 AMBYSean LerSingapore Business Federation (SBF) chairman Mark Lee will be appointed to the board of Enterprise Singapore (EnterpriseSG) from Sept 1, the Ministry of Trade and Industry announced on Monday (Aug 31).
The 53-year-old, who is also Sing Lun Holdings' chief executive officer, replaces 71-year-old shipping mogul Teo Siong Seng.
Beyond his role at Sing Lun, Lee is also the president of integrated environmental and waste management company Blue Plant South East Asia.
He oversees a diversified portfolio of businesses spanning hazardous and non-hazardous waste management, resource recovery, waste-to-energy, industrial services and specialised environmental solutions.
Lee is also a non-executive director of Crystal International Group, one of the world's largest apparel manufacturers — listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
Beyond his corporate roles, Lee is a council member of the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, where he chairs its technology committee.
He also serves on the boards of the National Heritage Board and Kwong Wai Shiu Hospital and is chairman of the Asian Civilisations Museum and Peranakan Museum.
The nominated member of Parliament has filed several parliamentary questions relating to business opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises.
He has also made several speeches on business competitiveness amid a changing world.
During a motion on the future of Singapore's economy filed by MPs Assoc Prof Jamus Lim (Sengkang GRC) and Kenneth Tiong (Aljunied GRC), Lee pointed out that the answer to competition for Singapore businesses cannot be protection.
Instead, he suggested that Singapore companies need help to build the capabilities to venture abroad, anchor value, and become strong enough to compete.
EnterpriseSG will continue to be led by its chairman Lee Chuan Teck, who was appointed to the executive role on April 1, 2024.
Teo, who is the executive chairman of Singaporean shipping company Pacific International Lines, is on a leave of absence from public duties as he deals with accusations of price fixing by the US Department of Justice.
On May 22, Teo also announced that he will take time away from his roles with the Singapore Economic Resilience Taskforce, as well as being on the board of EnterpriseSG.
On May 28, he said in a statement that he does not intend to seek re-election as chairman of the Singapore Business Federation when his term ends on June 24.
He also expanded his leave of absence to his role as Pro-Chancellor in the National University of Singapore and his shipping firm.
These absences were effective from June 1 and June 8 respectively.
