ERP returns to Orchard Road on weekdays from Sept 7

PUBLISHED ONAugust 31, 2026 7:20 AMBYSean LerThe Land Transport Authority (LTA) on Monday (Aug 31) announced that it will resume Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) operations in the Orchard Road area.
This, after the authority said it had "closely monitored" traffic conditions in the Orchard Cordon over several months and observed that congestion has persisted, with traffic peeds remaining below optimal levels since October last year.
"LTA will resume ERP operations for the Orchard Cordon on weekdays with effect from Sept 7," it added.
Motorists will pay $1 from 11am to 7pm on weekdays.
There are 11 ERP locations in the Orchard Cordon: Buyong Road, Cairnhill Road, Clemenceau Avenue, Killiney Road, Kramat Road, Orchard Link, Orchard Road, Orchard Turn, Oxley Road, YMCA and Fort Canning Tunnel.
LTA said it is also assessing whether to extend ERP operations for the Orchard Cordon on Saturdays in the next quarter.
LTA also pre-empted motorists that it may extend ERP operation hours at the CTE (AYE) before Braddell Road if road congestion persists.
According to the authority, heavy traffic has been observed across stretches of the expressway over a longer duration on weekday mornings, stretching till late morning.
"Speeds have persistently been lower than optimal," LTA noted.
There are no changes to ERP rates at other locations, for now.
